Brighton Pride is one of those weekends where this city absolutely comes alive. As a business born and bred in Brighton, it’s not just an event on the calendar for us at GoSucceed. It’s personal. And this year, we threw ourselves into it properly.
We kicked off the Pride weekend on Friday as proud sponsors of the Rainbow Run. Seeing hundreds of people come together, covered in colour, full of joy, was exactly the kind of energy that reminds you what community really looks like. It was a brilliant start to what turned out to be an unforgettable few days.
On Saturday, Gary and Jonny Monroe, GoSucceed’s co-founders, joined the Pride parade alongside Brighton and Hove Albion. Walking through the streets of this city, surrounded by thousands of people celebrating who they are, is something you don’t forget in a hurry. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish.
Jonny wasn’t just marching. As their drag performer alter ego Cherry Bomb, they performed at venues across the city throughout the weekend, including a headline slot on the street party stage. Cherry Bomb brought the house down more than once, and if you were lucky enough to catch a performance, you’ll know exactly what we mean. Brighton Pride and drag performance are a perfect match, and Jonny owned every moment of it.
Sunday wrapped up in the best possible way. We joined the crowds at Preston Park to watch the legendary Diana Ross close out the weekend. Fabulous doesn’t even begin to cover it. A fitting end to a Pride that had everything.
Our commitment to the LGBTQ+ community goes beyond a weekend in August.
