Most people think selling is about having the right script. The right pitch. The right closing line.
It’s not.
Selling is about conversation. And when you get that right, clients don’t feel sold to. They feel understood.
That’s exactly what we explored at our latest GoSucceed® Goldmine workshop at The Perseverance in London. All 12 seats sold out. The energy in the room was electric. And the takeaways were the kind that change how you run your business from the very next conversation you have.
Goldmine is GoSucceed®’s intimate, high impact workshop series for business owners who are serious about growth. Small numbers, real conversations, practical tools you can use straight away. No death by PowerPoint. No fluff. Just the stuff that actually works.
This session focused on our Smart Sales Presentation framework, which we’ve renamed for good reason: Sell It From Conversation to Client. Because that’s exactly what it does.
The workshop walked attendees through the full journey from a cold conversation to a signed client. We covered how to open, how to present your value, how to handle the moment when price comes up, and how to close without ever feeling like you’re selling.
One of the biggest moments in the room came when we talked about presenting your price. Instead of rushing through it or apologising for it, we coached attendees to say:
“The investment is…”
And then pause.
That pause does more work than any sales script ever written. It signals confidence. It gives the client space to process. And it removes the desperation that kills so many deals.
The proof is always in the room. Here’s what three of our attendees took away:
Parveen, Med Support Academy: Parveen’s biggest takeaway was the moment around price presentation. Saying “the investment is” and then pausing completely changed how she thinks about that conversation. Confident, calm and powerful.
Prince, Find My Project: Prince left with a clearer sense of how to frame his why and communicate what he actually does. When you can articulate your purpose clearly, the right clients recognise themselves in it immediately.
Soodesh, Emerald Splash: Soodesh worked through his value proposition in the room and nailed down his niche. Knowing exactly who you serve and why you’re the right person to serve them is the foundation everything else is built on.
Twelve seats. That’s it. Not because we can’t fill a bigger room, but because Goldmine is designed to be intimate. Every person in that room got time, attention and real feedback. That’s not something you can do with 100 people.
The next Goldmine event is coming. If you want to be in the room, get on the list early.
If you’re a business owner who knows your product or service is brilliant but struggles to communicate that value in a way that converts, this is for you.
